Artists in Activism has many active community projects aimed at making a better world for the next generation to live in. There is a very small population of BIPOC in Snohomish County which makes our outreach matter that much more. Your support of these projects is what makes them possible. Click on each project below and join the fight!
Think! Ideas! Community Media Hub
Think! Ideas? is our concept for a multimedia hub in Snohomish County that serves the BIPOC community by putting the latest technology in the hands of that community to create content aimed at change. Under the direction of our mentors we will assist in the creation of Video, Audio, Web, and Visual Arts content that realizes the vision of each community member involved. Curating this content will give a voice to a vastly underrepresented group in Snohomish County and sustain the activist sprit that birthed this concept. With your support we can acquire the building and work toward partnerships with the manufacturers of the technology needed to outfit the center to be an amplifier for the cause. #10BLACKMEN Documentary Film
#10BLACKMEN is a documentary film about Anti-Black Maleness and its effect on Black Men. Shot at specific socially charged locations like the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP, formerly known as CHAZ) the film is made up of interviews that highlight the similarities of opinion on issues relating to being a Black Man while celebrating the differences. Geographic location, economic status, age, and upbringing all play a part in the interviews and paint a picture of the diversity that exists in a group that is too often lumped together. Your support of this project will help us travel to other socially relevant areas around the nation and continue the interview process. Please show your support by visiting the DONATE page. Thank you for joining the fight!
Rooftop  Pop Up Protest
The Rooftop Pop Up Protest has become the anchor for anti-police brutality and anti-systemic racism movements in Snohomish County. With a fresh perspective on protesting that incorporates live music performance with sign holding and guest speakers AIA has created a safe space for all interested in letting their voices be heard. Originally met with resistance from the local municipality the protest has evolved into a 20+ week cry for freedom and reform that will not be silenced. Your support for the roof top pop up will be directed to sustaining this protest and growing our numbers until the entire community stands with us in solidarity.
